An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Speech & LanguageTherapist in our friendly and innovative Speech and Language Therapy team. Weare looking for a dynamic SLT to provide assessment, advice and interventionfor mainstream primary schools buying in our traded SLT service.

The post holder would ideally have experience working withchildren with developmental speech and language delays and disorders andpreferably have experience working in a school environment collaborativelyworking with educational professionals to help meet the schools individualSpeech Language and Communication needs

To provide a service to mainstream schools working to agreedtargets with the schools :working at universal, targeted and specialist level.

Duties may include:

• assessing and setting programmes for individual children
• screening foundation stage classes
• setting up groups for schools to run
• providing training sessions for school staff
• liaising with parents
• evaluating impact of the service and suppling yearly outcomereport.

Rotherham is a friendly and dynamic Speech and LanguageTherapy department. Caseloads are divided into specialist teams to ensure thatall therapists working with similar client groups are part of a strongsupporting team. This post sits within the Traded schools SLT teams. Thedepartment offers a formal mentoring, peer support and a Personal DevelopmentReview system which ensures that training and learning needs can be identifiedand met appropriately.

• Experience working with children with Speech and Language difficulties
• Experience working in school settings
• Experience with working with children with a range of communication difficulties

• Working knowledge of NHS policies and national agendas
• Knowledge in using a range of formal and informal Speech and Language assessments

• Relevant Speech and Language Therapy
• HCPC registered
