About Tax Advisory at FTI

We are an independent expert-led tax practice that sits within the Corporate Finance practice of FTI Consulting. We provide corporate business tax advisory services to leading private equity and infrastructure fund houses, FTSE 100/listed groups, international funds and major corporations across a broad suite of tax services and technical specialisms. We have definitive expertise across many areas of tax and take pride in taking a pragmatic and commercial approach to advising clients. Our senior management team members are leaders in their field, and includes tax, accounting, legal, valuations, and technology experts, and economists.

About the Role

This role is for a Transfer Pricing Director (Manager equivalent) within FTI Consulting’s Tax Advisory practice.

The candidate will take ownership of the delivery of transfer pricing services and delegating work to the more junior people within the team.

The role will involve managing a portfolio of multinational clients across a broad range of industries, ensuring excellent client service and identification of further work opportunities.

The role will involve working on a breadth of advisory projects across all technical areas of transfer pricing, including transfer pricing policy design, reviews and implementation, thin capitalisation analysis, transfer pricing in M&A transactions, and expert witness litigation. The role will also include working on transfer pricing documentation projects and benchmarking analyses. In addition, there will be an opportunity to take an active role in business development opportunities, both through involvement in proposals and attending networking events.

What You’ll Do

  1. Exhibit strong project management to ensure timely delivery of work to meet deadlines
  2. Build and maintain relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service
  3. Manage WIP and billing for own clients, ensuring commercial recoveries
  4. Engagement in business development activities
  5. Liaison with the wider tax team and other service lines in respect of client work and potential business development opportunities
  6. Training and management of more junior members of the team to deliver work and provision of feedback
  7. Responsibility for adherence with the firm’s risk management procedures and some administrative tasks

What You Will Need to Succeed

Experience, Skills and Competencies:

Candidates will ideally hold a chartered accountant or tax advisory qualification (ACA/ACCA/CA/CTA/ADIT) however other relevant qualifications will be considered.

Additional requirements include:

  1. Proven skills and experience in transfer pricing gained in practice (ideally between 4-7 years)
  2. Strong technical ability
  3. Highly organised, have a good attention to detail and being able work to deadlines.
  4. Able to communicate complex technical issues in a straightforward and practical way to tax and non-tax specialists.
  5. Ability to manage work within budgets and deadlines
  6. Appetite to get involved in business development
  7. Able to prioritise and manage a varied workload under pressure.
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).
  9. Ability to manage both a team of people as well as clients
