A leading UK digital infrastructure and data‑centre operator is seeking an experienced Town Planner / Planning Officer to support planning and development activities across a growing portfolio of mission‑critical facilities.
This organisation owns and operates highly secure, technically advanced data centres supporting some of the UK's most demanding enterprise and cloud clients. With long‑term investment, a strong development pipeline, and an in‑house delivery model, they offer a stable and professional environment for senior planning specialists.
You will provide planning expertise across live and upcoming data‑centre developments, supporting applications, variations, and stakeholder engagement while ensuring compliance with local and national planning policy.
This is a flexible contract role, well suited to an experienced planner looking for a high‑value, low‑friction engagement within a technically sophisticated organisation.
- Support planning strategy for data centre and digital infrastructure developments
- Prepare and manage planning applications, amendments, and supporting documentation
- Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and internal project teams
- Advise on planning risk, constraints, and mitigation strategies
- Support discharge of planning conditions and ongoing compliance
- Contribute planning input to development programmes and project timelines
- Proven experience as a Town Planner or Planning Officer
- Strong understanding of UK planning policy and development control
- Experience with large‑scale infrastructure, industrial, or complex commercial projects
- Confident dealing with local authorities and key stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and provide clear, pragmatic advice
