Compliance Analyst

The compliance analyst will be based in London and work in close collaboration with colleagues in Geneva, Tallinn, and Singapore. The position reports to the Geneva Management.

1. Undertake the Group’s counterparty registration/KYC process: conduct thorough due diligence and counterparty checks, perform screenings and reputational searches as appropriate.
2. Review counterparty due diligence, including KYC documentation and screenings, to ensure compliance with Group standards and policies, accuracy, and legitimacy.
3. Maintain counterparty data throughout the full commercial relationship lifecycle, ensuring system data accuracy.
4. Investigate low, medium, and high-risk counterparties against money laundering, bribery, fraud, sanctions, and suspicious activity.
5. Perform risk assessments on all new and existing counterparties, including PEPs and high-risk entities.
6. Ensure the assurance process is executed, and daily alerts are reviewed and resolved.
7. Escalate issues as appropriate to Senior Compliance/Global Head of ABC in Geneva.
8. Maintain effective communication with Gunvor stakeholders, including trading desks and support functions, regarding counterparties and business activities, and communicate with external counterparties as needed.

• University degree (e.g., legal, economics, or related fields). Compliance/KYC certifications are a plus.
• 2-5 years of compliance/KYC/DD experience, ideally in commodity trading.
• Experience with KYC, counterparty due diligence, and screening.
• Experience dealing with high-risk counterparties/jurisdictions is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address compliance issues and review alerts.
• Knowledge of AML-CFT, Anti-Bribery and Corruption Compliance, or Sanctions is a plus.
• Proactive, quick learner, adaptable to change, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Process-driven and goal-oriented.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
• Team player with good communication skills, capable of working independently and supporting remote teams across Tallinn, Singapore, and Geneva.
• Stress-tolerant and resilient.
• Experience working with remote teams is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
