Speechify’s text-to-speech products turn PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, websites, and more into audio so users can read faster, read more, and remember more. Our products include the iOS app, Android app, Mac app, Chrome Extension, and Web App. Speechify has received recognition from Google and Apple for its products.

Today, nearly 200 people work globally in a 100% distributed setting. This includes frontend and backend engineers, AI researchers, and others from major tech companies and academia.

We are a flat organization that values leadership through technical excellence, strong communication, and results. Our interview process involves several technical interviews and we aim to complete them within 1 week.

What You’ll Do

• Opportunity to lead key engineering and product decisions
• Actively shipping production code for the Speechify iOS app
• Work within a dedicated product team
• Participate in product discussions to shape the product roadmap
• Maintain and enhance the existing complex app architecture

An Ideal Candidate Should Have

• Experience working on products that scaled to a large user base
• Track record of taking products from inception to traction and owning the engineering of the product
• Customer obsession and a focus on delivering the best possible experience
• Product thinking and the ability to support internal teams and designers in the product direction
• Speed and prioritization to ship what matters now
• Focus to balance collaboration with deep work in a remote, high-growth startup
• Technical skills: Swift, SwiftUI

Technical Requirements:

• Swift programming language
• SwiftUI experience
• Experience in multithreading programming
• Working with CI/CD infrastructure
• Experience with Fastlane
• SOLID principles and writing well-structured classes
• Experience with Git and various Git strategies
