Manufacturing Engineer: Lean NPI & Process Optimization
Job summary
A well-established manufacturing company in Southampton is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to enhance production efficiency and product quality. The role involves optimizing manufacturing processes, supporting new product introductions, and leading improvement initiatives. Candidates should have proven experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong grasp of engineering principles. This position offers a salary of £45,000 per annum.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within a production or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) from concept through to production.
- Identify and implement process improvements, tooling solutions, and layout changes.
- Work closely with design, quality, and production teams to resolve technical and production issues.
- Create and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
- Lead or support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff.
