People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Walton Summit, Preston.

As a Class 1 Driver you will receive the following benefits:

Rates of Pay

• Days: £16.50 per hour
• Nights: £17.50 per hour
• Saturday days: £18.00 per hour
• Saturday nights: £19.00 per hour
• Sunday days: £18.50 per hour
• Sunday nights: £19.50 per hour

Day to Day Duties

Your duties as a Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:

• Curtain-sider work, 2/3 deliveries per shift
• Operate and drive various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
• Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management

As a Class 1 Driver you will need to:

• Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
• Have a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card
• Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
• Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
• Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Six months or more experience driving LGV vehicles

Training

• Site assessment must be completed
• Industry related training and support throughout
