Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. • Participates in or leads part of efforts in association with solutions, roadmaps, and architectural recommendations.
• Depending on size of application or scope of project, facilitates and / or executes the governance process ( blueprint and design reviews) for projects.
• Implements the strategy for stability and performance of solutions (including - project level design, debug and performance analysis) at the applications and technology domains level.
• Provides input into portfolio or prioritization process as well as how escalation for remediation of application stability and performance will be managed for scope. Ability to prioritize on his / her own.
• Contributes to and influences adoption of new concepts, ideas, techniques, best practices and technology assistance (best practices, guidelines and models for supported technologies.).
• Collaborates with other architects, development groups, and OAI‑Sys employees.
• May participate in enterprise engagements and initiatives like Centers of Excellence and owns deliverables associated with these efforts.
• May participate in development and production support of application utilities and owns deliverables associated with these efforts.
• May participate in vendor and product management strategies to establish required infrastructures and frameworks and owns deliverables associated with these efforts.
• Owns deliverables associated with product evaluations and Proof of Concepts'.
• Participates in the day to day execution of the architectural strategy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Working knowledge of architecture technology directions.
• Working knowledge in enterprise, application, and information architecture.
• Working knowledge of product and / or project management and Software development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• General knowledge of technical reference architectures in Java, .NET, SQL and SOA required.
• General knowledge of experience with influencing people in a matrixed organization.
• Thorough knowledge of experience in multiple technologies and architectures.
• General knowledge of Insurance industry experience, London Markets desirable.
• General knowledge of experience in engaging with business stakeholders and turning requirements into IT solutions required.
• General knowledge of experience in providing architecture guidance to Development Teams.
• Thorough knowledge of experience in multiple technologies and architectures including :
• J2EE.
• Web Application Development (User & B2B).
• Service‑Oriented Architecture & Web Services (SOAP, XML, REST).
• Application Frameworks (Spring, Struts, Hibernate, MVC, etc.).
• Middleware Technologies (Websphere, JBoss, Datapower).
• Relational Database Design (DB2 / 400, MS SQL Server).
• Document, Imaging, and Web Content Management (FileNet).
• Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, and ETL.
• Transaction Design (OLTP, Batch).
• Component Based Design.
• Application Integration.
• Performance Engineering.
• Demonstrates analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are often novel and not readily defined, lack known precedent or appear contradictory.
• Able to develop solutions by applying accepted processes or creating new approaches to leverage technology from abstract information.
• Optimizes the use of all available resources.
• Bases decisions on an accurate understanding of the situation.

• Knowledge of event‑driven architecture patterns, messaging systems, and asynchronous communication models for service integration.
