SEND Support Assistants Needed for roles to begin ASAP and September

Are you apsychology or criminology graduate , or a final-year undergraduate, looking for hands-on experience working with children with additional needs? Protocol Education is offering a fantastic opportunity to gainpractical experiencein a well-led, nurturing primary school in North Tyneside.

Thisfull-time, term-time onlyrole is ideal for those interested in careers ineducational psychology, mental health, social work, youth justice, or teaching. You will be working closely with children who have experienced significant trauma and have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).

• Gainhands-on experiencesupporting children with SEMH needs in a structured school environment

• Work alongside experienced teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

• Develop skills inbehaviour management, emotional regulation, and trauma-informed approaches

• A long-term opportunity that could lead to a permanent role or support further studies

• Supporting pupils with SEMH and complex needs in a well-run, inclusive setting

• Building trusting relationships to help children overcome barriers to learning

• Assisting with interventions designed to promote emotional resilience and engagement

• Learning from professionals in education, psychology, and child development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
