Senior Solution Consultant – Financial Consolidation and Reporting

We are seeking a passionateSenior Solution Consultant – Financial Consolidation and Reporting to join our Solution Consulting team. In this role, you will partner with CFOs and finance transformation leaders to help them modernise the financial close process, achieve statutory compliance, and link consolidation seamlessly into the wider Connected Planning journey.

Your Role

As a Senior Solution Consultant, you will serve as Anaplan’s subject matter expert for financial close, consolidation, and reporting in the presales cycle. You will design and deliver compelling consolidation solutions, demonstrate how Connected Planning reduces closing cycles, and enable organisations to move from retrospective reporting to forward-looking insight.

Unlike traditional standalone consolidation tools, Anaplan goes further by unifying consolidation with forecasting, variance analysis, and scenario modelling. Your role is both advisory and hands-on: helping clients envision transformation, delivering value-driven demonstrations, and shaping enterprise-scale finance strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Presales and Solution Design

  • Act as the financial consolidation subject matter expert during client engagements, addressing intercompany eliminations, multi-currency reporting, compliance, financial close automation, and integrated reporting.
  • Partner with sales to qualify opportunities and position Anaplan as the enterprise platform of choice for consolidation and connected planning.
  • Build and deliver tailored demonstrations that showcase measurable outcomes such as reducing close cycles, enhancing auditability, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct discovery sessions to analyze client processes, pain points, and objectives, translating them into high-value solutions.

Industry Expertise and Thought Leadership

  • Advise clients on best practices across industries (Banking, Insurance, Manufacturing, Retail, etc.), positioning Anaplan as a trusted finance transformation partner.
  • Stay current with financial regulations (IFRS, US GAAP, ESG/CSRD requirements), market trends, and emerging technology such as AI/ML for automation and predictive insights.
  • Contribute to presales assets—including demo environments, use-case accelerators, case studies, and proof-of-concept models.

Executive Engagement and Collaboration

  • Engage with senior finance stakeholders (CFOs, Controllers, Finance Transformation Officers) to influence strategy and investment decisions.
  • Present Anaplan’s value at executive level with clear ROI storytelling and business outcome orientation.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to provide feedback and influence roadmap priorities.
  • Partner with delivery teams to ensure seamless transition from design to implementation.
  • Mentor junior solution consultants on consolidation expertise and best practices.

Your Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in financial consolidation, financial close, external reporting, or related domains.
  • Strong knowledge of close processes: inter-company eliminations, multi-currency, statutory compliance, reconciliations, and close cycle optimisation.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Anaplan, OneStream, Tagetik, Oracle FCCS, SAP BPC, Hyperion Financial Management, or comparable platforms.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS, US GAAP, and evolving reporting frameworks.
  • Proven ability to distill complex requirements into clear solution architectures.
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling skills for both technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) is a strong plus.

Preferred

  • Prior presales or client-facing consulting experience in enterprise software.
  • Experience leading finance transformation initiatives or advising on modernization of the record-to-report process.
  • Familiarity with connected planning and EPM ecosystems, data integration, reporting tools, and enterprise finance architectures.
  • Knowledge of ESG/CSRD reporting and digital audit requirements.
  • Executive presence with the ability to engage CFO-level stakeholders as a trusted advisor.
  • Ability to link technology capabilities to measurable business outcomes.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for finance transformation and innovation.
  • Collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset; thrives in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical approach to client challenges.
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities while maintaining focus on quality and client success.
