Overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive, highly organised individual to join an award-winning, leading tech firm based in Birmingham City Centre.

This part-time position is particularly well suited to a postgraduate student working towards qualification (e.g., SQE or LPC) who is seeking hands‑on, relevant legal experience alongside their studies.

  • Location: Birmingham
  • Hours: 2–3 days per week
  • Salary: 28-30k pro rata
Role
  • Draft, review and negotiate a range of legal contracts, with a particular emphasis on JCT and NEC agreements.
  • Analyse key contractual terms and produce clear, structured summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Undertake detailed legal research to support contract drafting and risk assessment.
  • Provide timely and professional responses to technical, client‑facing queries.
  • Support ongoing improvements to internal processes, including contract templates, documentation standards, version control, and tracking systems.
About You
  • Previous experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or in a junior contract‑focused role.
  • A relevant legal qualification (LLB, SQE, or LPC).
  • Experience working within a fast‑paced, technical, or commercially driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of JCT and/or NEC construction contracts is desirable, though not essential if you’re willing to learn.
