As a Kitchen Porter for Sodexo in Wellington College, Dukes Ride, Crowthorne, Berkshire, RG45 7PU, you will be a key part of the kitchen team. You'll be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness within the kitchen and food & beverage preparation areas. Your cheerful, can-do attitude will make you a major part of everyone's everyday experience.

• Wash all crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, and equipment, as well as food service equipment.

• Ensure the following are kept clean and tidy to a very high standard:

  • Floors & Walls

  • Bins – inside and out

  • Crushing and disposal of cardboard and boxes

  • Fridges & Freezers (with assistance from chefs)

  • Delivery areas

• Maintain cleanliness and safety of working areas.

• Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials as required

• Adhere to all health and safety, fire, hygiene, and COSHH regulations governing your work, ensuring the correct chemicals/detergents are always used.

• Report all accidents (and near misses) to the Chef.

• Report any shortages in equipment or chemicals to the Sous Chefs or any other senior member of staff.

• Exercise due care and attention to ensure minimal breakages of equipment

• Transport provisions, equipment, and other catering related items as required

• Ensure the proper storage, disposal of all waste products in accordance with mandatory regulations

Essential

• No experience necessary, just a keen interest to learn
• Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
• Ability to achieve performance criteria about hygiene
• Good communication skills
• Ability to adhere to health and safety practises
• Flexibility on work schedule will be required at times as may be required to work unsociable hours in line with business requirements
