About The Role

We’re looking for a dynamic Director of Outdoor Education and Activities to lead and develop our thriving department. This is a unique opportunity to create unforgettable experiences for students, from skiing and climbing to water sports and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. You’ll set the strategic direction, ensure the highest standards of safety and quality, and champion outdoor education as a vital part of school life.

What You’ll Do
  • Drive the vision and long‑term strategy for Outdoor Education and Activities.
  • Oversee daily operations, scheduling, and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Manage and deliver the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme (Silver and Gold).
  • Lead and develop a skilled team, ensuring training and qualifications are up to date.
  • Maintain facilities and equipment to the highest standards.
  • Build partnerships to expand opportunities for students.
  • Promote student leadership, wellbeing, and engagement through co‑curricular initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience
    • Proven background in the outdoor industry and working with young people.
    • Experience running Duke of Edinburgh Award programmes.
  • Qualifications
    • Mountain Leader or Hill and Moorland Leader Award.
    • Duke of Edinburgh Supervisor and Assessor.
