Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of Enhance Academy Trust

Weeks per year: Meetings typically take place five times a year with most taking place in the early evening.

Contract type: Casual

Start date: ASAP

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join our governance team and work flexibly around a calendar of scheduled meetings. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to work independently and manage their own time while meeting strict deadlines. The role will include providing in‑meeting advice to governors and delivering effective administrative support under the guidance of our Central Team.

We are looking for someone who
  • Ensures compliance with governance legislation and the Trust's Scheme of Delegation.
  • Supports the LAB with procedural matters and provides advice on changes to responsibilities.
  • Coordinates the preparation, distribution, and timely review of meeting papers and minutes.
  • Monitors actions, tracks progress, and ensures meetings are quorate.
  • Onboards new governors with resources, induction, and the Code of Conduct.
  • Advises on governor term expiries and skills mix to maintain effective governance.
  • Builds strong working relationships with the LAB, Trust Central Team, and Governance Professional.
