Nearly all the women we see have their care paid for by the NHS.

About You

With a Bachelor of Medicine or equivalent and full General Medical Council registration plus a license to practice, you will be passionate and committed to reproductive healthcare. You will ensure that all BPAS clients are treated in a professional and caring way and have unwavering support for a woman's right to choose abortion.

A good communicator you enjoy building strong working relationships across the business and enjoy maintaining such relationships as well.

  • Complete client consultation if needed and complete the statutory documentation
  • Assess and provide advice on the management of clients with medical or other conditions which may affect the abortion process.
  • Be present in the operating theatre throughout each procedure and remain on site until all clients have been assessed fit for discharge from recovery or passed to the care of another on‑site doctor
  • Provide support, advice and guidance to nursing staff in the management of unexpected outcomes

We are also looking for:

  • Experience of independent practice for any abortion procedures/gestations relevant to the post, or willingness to be trained in‑house.
  • Knowledge of termination of pregnancy procedures and the assessment and management of complications
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to be pro‑active and flexible
  • Experience of IUD/Implant insertion along with knowledge of sexual health issues
  • Willing to travel to other locations within the region and/or work flexibly
