Graduate Building Surveyor / Chartered Building Surveyor (newly qualified): Brighton. Either advanced APC or recently qualified. Our client, an award-winning multi-disciplinary practice, is looking to recruit a Building Surveyor. Role Overview:

We are seeking a Building Surveyor to join our team in Brighton.

This role involves working with clients to build, maintain, and develop buildings that are fit for purpose and benefit residents and the wider community. We pride ourselves on creating long-standing relationships with our clients and working collaboratively to achieve excellent results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit applications for planning and building regulations approval.
• Prepare specifications for tender, undertake tender analysis, and issue tender reports.
• Support senior staff in acting as adjoining owner’s surveyor, building owner’s surveyor, or agreed surveyor under the Party Wall etc Act 1996.
• Manage specific projects, including stock condition surveys and energy performance certificates.
• Assist senior surveyors with contract administration duties under various JCT contracts.
• Complete inspections for assigned projects within agreed timeframes.
• Conduct inspections to diagnose defects, including site investigations, opening up, testing, and sampling.
• Produce accurate, timely reports on building conditions and recommended remedial actions.
• Follow Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times.

The above duties are not exhaustive; additional tasks may be assigned in line with organizational objectives.

Skills and Experience

• Experience as a consultant building surveyor with comprehensive knowledge of materials and construction types.
• Proficiency in writing specifications and schedules of works.
• Experience acting as a contract administrator, especially with JCT contracts.
• Understanding of planning and building regulations approval processes.
• Significant site inspection experience monitoring active construction sites.
• Confidence in attending and leading progress meetings with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Ability to produce various reports independently, including feasibility, defect, and condition reports.
• Party wall services experience is beneficial.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
