Engineering Supervisor

We are a leading food manufacturer seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to lead, develop, and inspire a team of engineers within our fast-paced food manufacturing facility.

Reporting to the General Manager, this is a hands‑on leadership role. You will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all plant equipment and services, while driving a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. You will play a key part in supporting production, reducing downtime, and ensuring compliance with strict food safety and manufacturing standards.

As the Engineering Supervisor, you will:

• Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and manage a team of multi‑skilled engineers within the prepared factory

• Maintenance Management: Oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime.

• Technical Expertise: Diagnose and resolve electrical and PLC‑related faults on automated production equipment.

• System Management: Manage and develop the site's maintenance system (MaintainX).

• Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with food safety, health & safety, and regulatory standards.

• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reduce costs.

• Salary: £55,000 + Benefits.

• Contract: Full‑time, Permanent.

• Experience: Proven supervisory or leadership experience within food manufacturing or FMCG environments.

• Technical Knowledge: Strong electrical and automation background, including hands‑on PLC fault‑finding and diagnostics.

• Qualifications: Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

• Maintenance Systems: Solid knowledge of PPM systems and maintenance best practices.

• Skills: Excellent problem‑solving skills with a proactive, pragmatic approach.
