Job Introduction

Gleeson Homes are recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to assist the Regional Commercial team, delivering the Group Business plan, Commercial objectives, budgets and future growth requirements by being involved in commercial activities; supporting the implementation, control and reporting of all development/build-related expenditure.

Our teams are structured with a Commercial Director, a Managing Quantity Surveyor, a Senior and Quantity Surveyors - giving you the experience and mentorship to further develop.

Main Responsibilities

As An Assistant Quantity Surveyor, You Will
  • Supporting management and reporting.
  • Assisting the commercial team and following group policies and processes.
  • Helping manage the relationships with subcontractors, housing associations and external partners.
  • You’ll be key in helping determining and agreeing site start programs and assisting with commercial matters for new and existing developments.
  • Partaking in site visits, including not only the current and new sites, but also potential sites, seeing the future of Gleeson Homes.
The Ideal Candidate
  • A relevant qualification or basic understanding of the role of Quantity Surveying
  • A basic understanding of the financial implications of the methods and sequences of build
  • Basic Finance/Commercial awareness and Technical knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of the Construction Industry
  • Basic knowledge of commercial and financial management systems and controls
  • Awareness of codes of practice that impact on commercial matters e.g. Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, HSE etc
  • Knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations
  • The desire and determination to work collaboratively and progress as a team
