As HWRC Supervisor you will lead work at the Household Waste Recycling Centre to ensure our visitors to site each have a quality and safe experience. You will ensure and maintain a high level of Health & Safety compliance at all times and maximise best use of resources on site to acheive high levels of recycling and diversion.

Safety is at the forefront of eveything we do here at Renewi. Within this role you’ll be fully engaged in our safety culture, and will be sure to raise close calls and in doing so reporting all incidents as per the incident reporting systems, allowing us to improve daily and protect fellow workers in the Business.

Leading a small team of HWRC Operatives you will be focused on providing the customers who attend our site a quality and safe experience. No two days are the same at our HWRC’s, this role is varied and will include undertaking general site work such as; housekeeping, maintenance of skips and containers, paper picking and generally keeping the site safe and tidy.

Some of your key responsibilities:

• Assist site users in segregating materials in line with the Site Working Plan
• Carry out Environmental inspections and assist in closing out corrective actions.
• Operation of HWRC on a daily basis and providing support to the weighbridge for incoming and outgoing transactions during busy periods or periods of staff leave.
• Follow all risk assessments and safe operating procedure that are relevant to the post
• Comply with and actively participate in company standards, procedures, environmental and quality systems.
• Provide similar support at other sites within the region as required.
• Assist Technical Assistant with testing and monitoring associated with landfill compliance.

• Experience in carrying out daily maintenance duties and minor repairs
• Demands high standards of themselves and others and is able to translate this into high quality, high pace output
• Ability to build and maintain strong, cohesive relationships at all levels
• Basic understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance
