Responsibilities
  • Support and coach the team to ensure they reach their potential in both the shop and kitchen.
  • Support the training pathways to ensure training happens on time.
  • Lead by example and be hands-on when required.
  • Assign duties amongst team members to match individual productivity rates, skill sets and current responsibilities.
  • Coach the team for good performance by offering regular feedback and praise.
  • Lead the Speed of Service principles to ensure the team consistently follows the 6 Key Points of Service.
  • Follow the MBWA (Management by Walking Around) principles and empower the team to deliver engaging Joy of Pret activities.
  • Role model the 3Bs and empower the team to Be Kind, Be Honest, Be Generous.
  • Ensure the Coffee Calling System is followed efficiently.
  • Ensure all Marketplace orders are prepared promptly and accurately.
  • Deliver delicious food and drink by following the 6 Key Points of Production and the 11-Step Production Process to ensure customer safety and product quality.
  • Follow Production Principles to put customers’ needs first and maintain quality and freshness; ensure How to Cards are used and followed; carry out Line Checks and address improvements.
  • Ensure no Made to Sell (MTS) rejects are on display in our Langars; continually develop the team’s knowledge about the quality of our food and coffee; ensure Barista Prepared Drinks are made by trained employees to the highest standard.
  • Maintain a Well-Loved Shop by following Food Safety and Health & Safety standards, monitoring and recording safety checks, taking corrective action as needed, keeping the shop clean and equipment well maintained.
  • Demonstrate due diligence, report and escalate any quality issues, and follow Managing by Walking Around (MBWA) principles to monitor Pret Standards and view the shop through the customers’ eyes.
  • Support Shop Profitability by maximizing sales, labour efficiency and profit through forecasting, rosta, ordering and production; carry out ordering accurately; monitor Mystery Shopper requirements; ensure good stock control and follow marketing and merchandising guidelines to drive sales.
  • Grow Sales by following merchandising guidelines, leveraging marketing, and supporting successful food launches; enable clear and engaging communication between the kitchen and FOH to meet business needs; support Marketplace opportunities.
