Overview

A Vacancy at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The NRU is a regional rehabilitation unit providing intensive therapy to people with complex neurological disorders. The neurology service provides specialist assessment and intervention for in- and out-patients with a range of neurological and neuromuscular disabilities.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Band 3 Speech and Language Therapy Assistant (SLTA) required at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery to work in the neurorehabilitation and neurology services.
  • Work as part of the speech & language therapy team, alongside other allied health professionals, to provide intensive and evidence-based therapy, including group therapy.
  • Provide administrative and clinical support to the outpatient team.
  • Assist in learning about and working with acquired and progressive communication and swallowing impairments under the supervision of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Be an integral member of the team, helping services to provide person-centred and holistic assessment and treatments to people with communication and swallowing difficulties in an effective and efficient way.
