Job description
Overview

The post involves responsibility for participation in the Rheumatology Service at Kettering General Hospital. The role includes outpatient clinics, timely review of Rheumatology in-patient referrals, and liaison with junior doctors to ensure the timely and safe delivery of biological therapies and other infusions in the day unit. The post is fully supervised by Rheumatology Consultants.

Responsibilities
  • Run outpatient rheumatology clinics as part of the rheumatology service.
  • Ensure timely review of in-patient referrals and coordinate with the team to deliver safe and effective care.
  • Liaise with junior doctors to support delivery of biological therapies and infusions in the day unit.
  • Participate in weekly departmental meetings and, during the academic term, weekly hospital Grand Rounds.
  • Contribute to teaching medical students (e.g., from the University of Leicester) within the department.
  • Engage in audits and participate in regional meetings (e.g., Midlands Rheumatology Society) as opportunities arise.
  • May be required to work across Kettering and Northampton hospital sites as part of the UHN collaborative approach, depending on service needs.
Qualifications and Professional Requirements
  • Professional registration (as required for the role) and compliance with Trust policies on safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection.
  • Enhanced DBS check is required.

  • Applicants should expect standard recruitment checks, including data transfer via TRAC where applicable.
  • For DBS checks, note terms regarding update service and costs as part of the recruitment process.
