Overview

Senior Reconciliation Analyst, Bristol, Hybrid

A FCA regulated life & pensions service provider are seeking a dedicated professional to join the company, as a Senior Reconciliation Analyst. They are looking for someone who will be responsible for playing a pivotal role in completing daily reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies, documenting findings, and working closely with Operations to implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities
  • Processing, Overseeing and authorising the completion of bank accounts reconciliations, daily matching of outstanding entries and the daily banking journals, whilst overseeing the preparation of bank statements, daily workbook and the Balances Report.
  • Processing and Overseeing the daily Control Accounts Reconciliations to ensure all the control accounts are correct, any discrepancies have been identified and allocated, and that investigations to resolve are being dealt with promptly.
  • Processing and Overseeing the daily download of the Financial Reports and perform reconciliations to the Ledger, ensure any differences are promptly identified, investigated and resolved within the agreed SLAs.
  • Processing and Overseeing the daily Systems Checks to ensure the systems' readiness for the daily work.
  • Processing and Overseeing the completion of monthly tasks in order to support monthly ledger close activities ensuring the tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Processing and Reviewing and authorising manual journals where required.
  • Processing and Overseeing the completion of the Operational Loss processes ensuring all financial losses are properly investigated and reported appropriately within the reconciliation
  • Processing, Reviewing and authorising the tax reconciliations, oversee the payment made to the HMRC ensuring the correct value is paid on a timely basis.
  • Ensuring the daily and monthly deadlines are met and all reconciliations performed.
  • Ensuring all tasks and activities performed adhere to the Consumer Duty regulations.
Qualifications
  • Must have experience of working within a Finance Reconciliation role within Financial Services.
  • Be an expert in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Come with a systematic disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving, supported by strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess the ability to self-manage, work effectively under pressure and manage to tight deadlines.
  • Have a strong attention to detail, good fact-finding skills and ability to make evaluative judgements based on both quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Ideally use clear and effective verbal, written and presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate at senior levels within the team and the wider teams.
  • Come with strong knowledge of Finance and Accounting principles, practices and compliance requirements for the UK and Ireland, and knowledge of financial services (in particular Life & Pension) processes and regulations
