Role: Coke and Refinery (Technical Assessor)

Contract role

Location: Remote, UK coverage

Job Description:

We are seeking a Technical Assessor with experience in manufacturing coke oven products. As an external assessor, you will be a vital part of the UKAS assessment process, providing expertise to ensure robust evaluations in Coke and Refinery sectors.

This role offers a unique opportunity for industry professionals to develop their skills and advance their careers alongside current roles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess manufacturing processes of coke oven products, coke, semi-coke, pitch, oven gas, crude coal, lignite tars, and coke agglomeration.
  • Understand environmental impacts related to coke and refined petroleum product manufacturing.
  • Evaluate production of motor fuels, gasoline, kerosene, and refinery gases.
  • Review manufacturing of oil-based products for petrochemical and road covering industries.
  • Assess biofuel blending processes.
  • Gain on-site understanding of carbonisation, distillation, mineral oil production, and coke oven processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and environmental legislation.
Qualifications:

A degree in organic chemistry is preferred; however, extensive practical experience in the field will also be considered.
