Job Description

Responsible for implementing and supporting improvements, efficiency, enhancing software quality, and accelerate delivery times. Having the shared responsibility between development/operations with a focus on people, process, tolls that take a unified customer/user focus. In a multi-disciplinary team with Development, QA, IT Operations, Infosec, UCD etc. all working together to achieve a common goal of applying best practice in DevOps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extensive experience of DevOps tooling, containers and containerisation
  • Communication: Able to speak to stakeholders and be able to transfer business requirements into technical implementation
  • Facilitate information/business knowledge: Able to act as a business SME and understand what the business needs and how to support this into an efficient DevOps team.
  • Stakeholder Management: Able to negotiate and influence with stakeholders to ensure the service runs effectively and efforts are placed correctly.
Qualifications
  • 5+ Years as a DevOps Engineer
  • Strong knowledge in AWS and CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance
  • Practical experience using Terraform, Kubernetes and Helm
  • Knowledge of Java(spring) is ideal
  • Extensive experience of cloud computing, and best practices/emerging technologies
  • Experienced with multiple eco-system databases, architecture and integrations
  • Knowledge of GitLab, Bash scripting, ArgoCD, Kafka or Liquibase is beneficial but not a must-have
  • Embracing automation and implement CI/CD to improve quality and minimise downtime
  • Proactive monitoring and effective incident response to detect and efficiently resolve issues
  • Focussing on continuous improvement, fast feedback, high empathy and trust
  • Defining ways of working that aligns to standards and best practice.
  • Must have willingness to travel
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • Must be able to attain a UK Security Clearance
