Overview

London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) cares for the people of Brent, Ealing, Harrow and beyond. Our team of more than 8,200 clinical and support staff serve a diverse population of almost one million people. We run major acute services at four hospitals. This post is subject to a 20% Recruitment and Retention premium. The work location is negotiable and not limited to Ealing. This is a hybrid working role.

Responsibilities
  • To abstract and analyse complex clinical information and to assign codes using ICD10 and OPCS4 and enter these codes on to the trust’s PAS system.
  • Work as a member of the clinical coding team with responsibility for the coding of allocated wards.
  • Where a discharge summary is incomplete the coder will be responsible for extracting co-morbidities and other relevant supplementary information from handwritten, complex medical notes including retrieving histological results to ensure specificity and completeness of diagnostic coding.
