Wansford Surgery is a thriving well established and independentPractice serving over 10,500 patients across 120 square miles of rural territorynestling between Stamford and Oundle. We have exciting opportunities for a new Salaried GP, due tothe recent expansion of the practice population and wider team. Our new SalariedGP will be an excellent clinician and innovative thinker. They will be kind andcompassionate, a great team player, and committed to a high standard of care. Ideally,they will be a trainer or have an interest in becoming a trainer and have aninterest in Primary Care Research.

Main duties of the job

In general, the post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working with primary care, as set by Royal College of General Practitioners, General Medical Council, all other Royal Colleges and Councils applicable to the staff within the Practice, Department of Health, ICB, CQC, and all other regulatory and standard setting organisations.

Job responsibilities

Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GMS contract, additional and enhanced services where appropriate.

Provide other personal medical services to meet identified patients need.

Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare professionals within the organisation.

Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.

Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.

Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice; disease management protocols, provide counselling and health education.

Work within current ICB policy for prescribing.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Registration and Certification:
• Be included in NHS England list of medical practitioners as per section 91 of the NHS Act 2006.
• Hold full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) on the General Practitioner Register.

Experience

• Strong clinical skills with an evidence-based approach to patient care.
