About Us

The School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences has attracted multi-million pound research funding and collaborates with other universities and Faculties within KCL, the NHS, charitable trusts and foundations, international Universities and industry.

The post holder will work most closely with the directors of the EPSRC funded programme grant and support academic and research staff and their academic collaborators in other institutions, hospitals and industry conducting this funded research and delivering outcomes that have real-world, life-improving impacts.

About The Role

This post will support an EPSRC Programme Grant with 15 co-investigators in a range of disciplines related to development of PET imaging strategies for the development of nanomaterials for therapeutic and diagnostic applications, including clinical translation to benefit patients. The Programme is mainly hosted by the Research Department of Imaging Chemistry and Biology within the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences at King’s College London (KCL), with major additional contributions from colleagues at Queen Mary University of London and University of Leeds, as well as other Departments within KCL.

The role will provide strategically informed project management support, working closely with, within and across teams responsible for research, translation, healthcare and industry both internal and external to KCL.

This is a full time post (35 hours per week) or part time post (50% FTE, 17.5 hours per week) and you will be offered a fixed term contract for 2 years (with the potential to extend for up to 5 years)

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree, HND, NVQ 4 qualified or equivalent in relevant subject/relevant formal training, plus relevant experience in similar or related roles
  • Experience of managing multi-stakeholder projects
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent IT skills in email, spreadsheets, word processing, databases and the Internet
  • Experience of working without supervision and taking responsibility for setting and meeting targets; to manage own workload and display good organisational ability
  • Ability to negotiate with multiple parties and achieve desired outcomes
  • Experience of working in a higher education or NHS environment
  • Experience of handling confidential information and communications in a sensitive and effective manner in accordance with current Data Protection legislation
  • PhD in science / health-related subject
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Experience of industry/capital/research funding schemes
  • Experience of grant writing and scientific writing
  • Understanding and experience of clinical research ethics and applications
