Overview

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead Docker Desktop, the cornerstone of the Docker developer experience. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on product management, overseeing the product vision, roadmap, and execution across all components of Docker Desktop—including Docker Engine, Docker Compose, Build, Model Runner, Testcontainers, Kubernetes integration, and more. You will work closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to deliver a seamless, powerful experience for millions of developers worldwide. Success in this role requires a balance of strategic thinking and tactical execution, along with a deep understanding of developer workflows, containerization, and cross-platform desktop applications.

Responsibilities
  • Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Docker Desktop, aligning with company objectives and customer needs.
  • Engage directly with customers to gather feedback, understand pain points, and validate solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to deliver high-quality features and improvements on time and within scope.
  • Analyze product performance metrics to inform decisions and optimize user experience.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform product strategy.
  • Communicate product plans, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders across the organization, and establish relationships with key stakeholders across product, engineering, design, and marketing.

  • Initiate user research and data analysis to inform roadmap prioritization.
