Job description
Overview

This role will form a central part of the services leadership team responsible for delivery on the requirements and ambitions for Perinatal Mental Health Services as laid out in the NHS Long Term Plan and within our commissioning arrangements. We are looking for a psychological leader who meets the Trust’s values, behaviours, and standards, and who thrives when leading through uncertainty. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the leadership team and involved in developing the pathways around psychological care in these teams.


Responsibilities


  • Lead the developments of the service related to psychological and therapeutic work, including interfacing with key stakeholders and designing, implementing, and evaluating trauma-informed care pathways and interventions.

  • Deliver training and provide line management, supervision, and job planning for staff; design staffing models and progress recruitment.

  • Work to ensure flexible services that meet the needs of women and their families, with appointments offered in several locations and care tailored to individual family needs.

  • Engage in leadership activities and duties that require frequent attendance at the team base; demonstrate understanding of these work role requirements.

  • Receive management supervision from the Community Directorate Lead for Psychological Professions.


Qualifications and Skills


  • Be an experienced, suitably qualified and registered Clinical Psychologist with HCPC or a Psychotherapist qualified and registered with the appropriate body (BABCP, UKCP, HCPC).

  • Have a real passion for perinatal mental health care and the ability to work autonomously and with partner agencies.

  • Hold experience proportionate to the competencies detailed in the job description and be able to operate within multidisciplinary teams and in partnership with other Psychological Professions.
