Job description

We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Plumbing Assessor to join our Apprenticeship department at Orbital South Colleges.

This role involves visiting learners in the workplace to assess their knowledge and learning for Plumbing courses across Levels 2-3.

Your duties will include conducting practical assessments, monitoring and tracking progress, training, assessing, and delivering the underpinning knowledge requirements of the qualification within the workplace. A key aspect of this role is to build strong relationships with industry professionals in the Construction sector on behalf of the College. The post holder must ensure that work placements are safe and conducive to learning.

You should possess a passion for high standards, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good time management, and proven experience supporting learners effectively.

Successful candidates must:

  • Be qualified to at least Level 3
  • Hold a Certificate/Award in Assessing (Ideally IQA)
  • Have an understanding of apprenticeship provision
  • Have proven industry experience in Plumbing
  • Hold a full, clean UK driving license and be willing to use your own vehicle for work purposes, as travel to local businesses is required
  • Have excellent administrative and IT skills
  • Experience of assessing and working with high-profile employers would be advantageous
  • Be capable of planning and delivering a flexible workload

It is also highly desirable for candidates to hold a Certificate/Award in Internal Quality Assurance and a teaching qualification.
