Job description
Overview

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a leading Biotechnology manufacturing company based in the Kent area. As the Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of both the manufacturing and facility operations. You will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, complex troubleshooting, and equipment rebuilds, while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone with strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  1. Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and facility equipment.
  2. Troubleshoot mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, addressing root causes to prevent recurring faults. Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and processes.
  3. Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, FDA, and other regulatory standards. Create and maintain SOPs, maintenance schedules, and other technical documentation.
  4. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to optimise equipment performance and reliability.
Role Requirements
  1. Post-secondary education in Engineering or Electromechanical Technology (or equivalent).
  2. Proven industry experience in maintenance within a GMP or highly regulated manufacturing facility.
  3. A working knowledge and practical experience with utility and facility systems, HVAC, boilers, feedwater testing, and Quality Management Systems.
