GI Group are proud to be working in partnership with a global automotive manufacturing company based in Coventry. Due to increased expansion and workload this is an exciting time to join a global renowned company.

Job Role:

As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be tasked with carrying out reactive, preventative, and proactive maintenance for electrical equipment onsite.

Typical Duties will involve:

  • Ensure breakdowns are responded to in a timely manner and any follow-up actions are carried out.
  • Ensure Maintenance records and work database (SAP) are kept up to date.
  • Attend and conduct shift handovers to discuss the daily and ongoing work.
  • Carry out planned maintenance work against TPM plan.
  • Contribute to the improvement and development of the planned maintenance system.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and actively support the continuing development of a safety culture across the site.
  • Proficient in general maintenance tasks i.e., replace bearings, drive belts, motors, gear boxes, conveyors, sensors, pneumatics and PLC's.

Knowledge, understanding, and the ability to fault find PLC Systems, HMI's, DC drives, Inverter controls, and safety control systems (mainly Siemens / Allen Bradley).

  • Knowledge and experience of electrical installation.
  • Knowledge and competence in fault finding on electrical, pneumatic, control systems and basic PLC's.
  • Good, sound mechanical/electrical engineering background, i.e., an understanding of manufacturing processes (automotive experience an advantage).
  • NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent - Qualified to 18th Edition Regulations.
