A regional law enforcement agency is seeking an HR Advisor to provide professional HR advice for leaders across the employee lifecycle. Successful candidates will have generalist HR experience and CIPD Level 5 education. The role offers a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility between office and remote work. Role: HR Advisor

Following a recent review of the department an exciting opportunity has arisen with the HR & Learning Department (previously People & Organisational Development) for the role of HR Advisor. We are seeking talented individuals with diverse experiences and backgrounds to join us and shape our future. Under the direction of the HR Manager, you will deliver professional HR advice for SYP leaders across the employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Build effective relationships with leaders and provide professional advice on all employment matters, including local workforce planning, employment law, interpretation of force policy, terms and conditions, Police Regulations and complex case management relating to attendance, performance and capability.
  • Ensure all cases are progressed in a timely manner.
  • Support the HR Manager in delivering the force People Strategy and workstreams including organisational change, policy development and process improvements.
  • Work in an agile manner from the HR & Learning base at Force Headquarters, Carbrook, and travel across the Force area as required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Generalist HR experience with evidence of advisory work on a wide range of complex people issues (grievance, capability, capacity, absence, etc.).
  • Educated to CIPD Level 5.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and awareness of pending changes; ability to apply law and mitigate risk.
  • Ability to assess risk, analyse data and apply findings to performance management approaches.

  • Hybrid working: work from any location including SYP buildings or from home; roles may require travel across sites.
