Job description

As an Estimating Apprentice you will have the opportunity to build on academic studies while working and training with industry experts. Through this apprenticeship, you will assist the Estimating team in preparing project estimates, while working closely with project management, engineering and the production teams. At the completion of this apprentice program, you will be placed into a full time position within the estimating department. As Estimating Apprentice, you will be responsible for:

• Working alongside an estimating Mentor, reading architectural drawings, project renderings and specifications to determine the scope of work and material requirements for job estimating.
• Participating in client and designer meetings to discuss project requirements, clarify details, and request additional information as needed.
• Assisting in compiling comprehensive lists of materials required for manufacturing custom items.
• Assisting Estimators with producing job estimates for custom retail fixtures.
• Learning about custom store fixture manufacturing processes and working with production teams to understand manufacturing capabilities and constraints.
• Participating in project kick off meetings.

THE SKILLSET:

• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Ability to quickly learn and grasp new software.
