Job description

Contract Type : Full-time, Permanent

Hours : 37 hours per week

Salary : Up to £44,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)

Location : Nottinghamshire

Job Purpose

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Electrical Installation Lecturer to join our team in Nottinghamshire on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and training across a range of Electrical Installation programmes, supporting learners to achieve industry‑recognised qualifications and progress into employment or further study.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Electrical Installation
  • Teach both theoretical and practical elements of electrical installation
  • Assess learner work and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Track and support learner progress, attendance, and achievement
  • Maintain accurate learner records in line with awarding body and organisational requirements
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, safeguarding, and quality standards
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement activities
  • Act as a course tutor where required, providing academic and pastoral support
Essentialilhas

Experience teaching or training within an educational setting (e.g. FE college, training provider, apprenticeships)

Strong industry experience in Electrical Installation

A recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one, such as :

  • PGCE or Cert Ed
  • Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET)
  • Level 3 AwardDistances in Education and Training (AET)
  • Relevant industry qualifications, including :

    • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
    • AM2 / AM2S
    • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)

    Up‑to‑date knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry practices

    Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills

    Desirable

    Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes

    Assessor and / or Internal Quality Assurance qualifications (A1 / CAVA, TAQA, IQA)

    Experience working with awarding bodies and quality frameworks
