Job description
Overview

Construction Solicitor | London

Our client, a top-tier UK law firm with a nationally recognised construction practice, is looking for a Solicitor to join their London office on a full-time basis. This is an excellent chance to work on high-profile, complex construction and real estate projects, while developing your expertise under the guidance of senior colleagues. This is a full-service, growing law firm with a diverse client base, ranging from the UK's largest businesses and housebuilders to investors, family offices, not-for-profits, and private individuals. They are dedicated to delivering first-class legal advice while promoting a healthy work-life balance, flexibility, and professional growth for their people. The London-based Construction team is a collaborative, 18-strong group advising a diverse client base, including residential and commercial developers, national housebuilders and investment funds, entrepreneurs and housing associations. The team handles a wide range of large-scale developments and urban regeneration projects. Working alongside other departments, the team forms part of the firm's significant real estate offering, with particular expertise in communal heat and power systems and other energy-related construction matters. The contentious practice spans litigation, arbitration, adjudication, and expert determination, covering issues such as delay and final account claims, defects and professional negligence claims, and complex multi-party disputes. The department also advises on non-contentious construction matters, allowing flexibility for lawyers to develop a balanced or specialist focus.

Responsibilities
  • Manage your own matters under supervision
  • Work across both contentious and non-contentious construction law matters
  • Draft, negotiate, and advise on construction contracts and project documentation
  • Support fee-earners on high-value projects and disputes
  • Build relationships with clients and external stakeholders
  • Develop your project management and time management skills in a dynamic team environment
Ideal candidate
  • Experience within a construction team, either in private practice or in-house
  • Exposure to managing matters independently, under supervision
  • Strong technical knowledge and genuine interest in construction law
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to balance competing deadlines
  • A proactive approach to progressing matters and developing expertise

You will become part of a friendly, talented team working on complex, high-profile projects. This role provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, hone your drafting, case management, and fee-earning skills, and grow your career within a firm committed to professional development and mentorship.

If you are a motivated construction lawyer looking to progress your career within a nationally recognised team, this is a unique opportunity to join a firm that invests in its people and provides exposure to complex, high-value projects.
