A global health and safety solutions company is seeking a Business Development Manager to set and execute a sales strategy across the UK. The role involves building relationships with top channel partners and requires a strong sales background within distribution markets. The ideal candidate will have experience selling to head office decision makers and will take a strategic approach. This position offers a competitive salary with significant OTE potential and benefits such as a car and pension.
The Business Development Manager for Channel will have a national remit and their core role is to set & execute a new & existing business sales strategy across the UK which will ultimately be carried out by a team of Territory Sales Managers at a branch facing level. The Business Development Manager will be selling a vast array of products & services associated with product & wire identification, health & safety signage, and printing & labelling technology. All used within construction, electrical, and industrial environments.
The Business Development Manager will be working with new, and existing, channel partners across the UK at a head-office level. They are looking for a ‘top-down’ approach to strategic partnerships with the likes of Toolstation, Screwfix, Edmundsons, CEF, and Brammer Buck & Hickman. The Business Development Manager will strategically look how their target organisations buy, what solutions they may need, and then put together proposals that will suit. Setting up & maintaining relationships with these specialist distributors will be key to success here as a lot of the ‘sell’ is through the channel partners once specified with end users by other, vertical specific, BDMs.
This role is a high-level, all-encompassing sales role. As such, the Business Development Manager will need to understand distribution led sales processes & framework agreements within large distribution businesses. You will join a team of five other Business Development Managers across the UK who all have their own verticals, but the team ethos will support you in utilising their previous strategies that could be implemented in your area.
