Job Description - Cover Supervisor (KS3/KS4)

Location: Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, confident, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team in Westcliff-on-Sea, supporting pupils across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4). The successful candidate will supervise whole classes during the absence of teachers, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-prepared learning and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.

• Supervise whole classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students stay on task with pre-set work.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and expectations.
• Provide clear instructions and guidance to students to complete work to the best of their ability.
• Support the learning of individuals and groups where required.
• Assist with the organisation of the classroom and resources.
• Record and report on student attendance, behaviour, and progress as directed.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school as required.

• Good standard of education (GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
• Confidence to deliver instructions and supervise groups of young people.
• Organised, adaptable, and able to use initiative.
