Job Description :
- At least 12+ years of experience in FinOps & exposure to AWS billing & cost management.
- FinOps Practitioner certification is a must.
- Associate or Professional level certification in AWS is a must.
- Manage cost visibility of public cloud platform for AWS.
- Monitor cloud spend and create budget alerts.
- Review & recommend the FinOps tool.
- Facilitate the implementation of FinOps tool.
- Conduct periodic reports and regular reviews of cloud spend with AWS Native Billing Console & other FinOps tools.
- Manage cloud commitments (CUD, Saving Plans, RI) & suggest use of Preemptible or Spot instances, wherever suitable.
- Identify unused resources and schedule decommissioning.
- Optimize existing resources by rightsizing instances.
- Optimize architecture by migrating to scalable resources.
- Define the FinOps framework and roadmap.
- Support Finance for budgeting forecast and Enterprise agreements with providers.
- Become the bridge between Finance, Product Owners & Cloud Engineers.
- Advocate FinOps principles in day-to-day operations & induce FinOps culture within stakeholders.
Technical Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant fields.
- At least 12 years of experience on public cloud platforms and at least 3 years of exposure to AWS billing & cost management.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner is a must.
- Associate or Professional level certification in AWS.
- Good understanding of AWS Billing methodology, Organization & Project structure.
- Good understanding of instance types, storage types & other AWS services.
- Good understanding of cost drivers for cloud resources.
- Capable of consolidating data and delivering aggregate views/reports.
- Understanding of variable cost models for cloud resources.
- Moderate verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical personnel and vendors.
- Good understanding of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other presentation tools.
- Understanding of PowerBI / Quicksight reports.
