Postdoctoral Researcher in Information Systems and Artificial Intelligence – campus de Toulouse
Job summary
A leading educational institution in Toulouse is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Information Systems and Artificial Intelligence. The successful candidate will work on innovative research projects focused on AI integration and data analytics in collaboration with industry partners. A Ph.D. in a relevant field and strong research skills in qualitative and quantitative methods are essential. This position offers a gross salary of €2,700 per month, with an initial duration of 10 months, extendable up to 24 months.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. required, knowledge in Data Science and AI.
- Experience in applied research methods with a focus on organizations.
- Fluency in English; French is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews with stakeholders to explore AI challenges.
- Design and distribute surveys to assess AI initiatives.
- Analyze survey data using advanced statistical techniques.
- Work on forecasting, optimization, and decision-support projects.
- Develop machine learning models for operational contexts.
- Translate research results into publications.

Postdoctoral Position – TBS Education & APEM
TBS Education is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for a full-time position of 10 months, renewable up to 24 months, ideally starting in September 2025 (possibility of an earlier start).
This position is funded as part of a partnership with APEM, a company in the IDEC Group (Japan), specialized in human-machine interface (HMI) technologies: switches, joysticks, and control panels for sectors such as aerospace, defense, industrial automation, and transportation. Clients include Airbus, Thales, and Siemens.
The researcher will contribute to applied research projects supporting APEM’s transformation through data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI). This is a unique opportunity to conduct research at the intersection of Information Systems, AI, data analytics, and organizational transformation, with the potential for publication in top academic journals.
Position Overview
You will join the Information, Operations & Decision Sciences Research Lab and the Center of Excellence in AI and Business Analytics, and contribute to projects around the integration of analytics and AI technologies within APEM.
Qualitative & Quantitative Research
- Conduct interviews with stakeholders (management, employees, partners) to explore strategic and organizational AI challenges
- Design and distribute surveys to assess adoption and impact of analytics/AI initiatives
- Analyze survey data using advanced statistical techniques
AI & Analytics Solutions Development
- Work on real-world projects: forecasting, optimization, decision-support
- Develop and implement machine learning models adapted to industrial and operational contexts
- Explore innovative methods to improve AI adoption and efficiency
Academic Contributions
- Translate results into publications for top-tier academic journals
- Write and co-author scientific articles
- Present findings at international conferences
Collaboration with Partners
- Coordinate with APEM and TBS teams to align research with operational goals
- Participate in seminars, workshops, and knowledge transfer activities between academia and industry
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- A Ph.D. in Information Systems (or a related field) with knowledge in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods applied to information systems.
- Some experience in applying machine learning and AI techniques to organizational or industrial challenges.
- A strong understanding of strategic and organizational issues related to digital transformation.
- Fluency in English (French would be a plus) to facilitate communication with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with enthusiasm, rigor, and autonomy.
Contract Duration: Initially 10 months (with the possibility to extend it up to 24 months in total). Ideally starting from September 2025 (possibility to start earlier)
Salary: €2,700/month gross.
