Since 2011, Livelihoods Venture has been working with rural communities worldwide to restore ecosystems and promote sustainable farming practices, improving livelihoods while enhancing biodiversity, soil health, and carbon sequestration.

At Livelihoods Venture, we manage two types of impact-driven businesses: carbon beyond the value chain and sustainable sourcing within the value chain (learn more). Each project connects us with thousands of smallholder farmers for up to 20 years, working alongside exceptional local organizations and building strong coalitions between corporations, brands, local suppliers, and NGOs. Over the years, we have funded nearly 40 projects, including agroforestry, rural energy, ecosystem restoration (mangroves), and agriculture.

We are seeking a passionate and results-driven Senior Agroecologist to join our Impact team. Reporting to the Head of Nature and Socio-Economic Impact Solutions, you will work closely with a team of senior agroecologists with expertise in annual & perennial crops and livestock in tropical & temperate climates. Your focus will be on designing and implementing regenerative agriculture projects that emphasize soil health, water management, and biodiversity enhancement. You will play a key role in shaping Livelihoods' agroecological strategy and supporting the technical success of projects in Europe. This position requires approximately 20% travel to the field.

This highly visible role involves regular interaction with executive leadership and director-level teams. It requires an individual with integrity, optimism, expertise, and a collaborative spirit to advance Livelihoods' mission of sustainable agriculture, socioeconomic autonomy, and resilience through income diversification and increase.

Key responsibilities focusing on regenerative agriculture and agroecology projects include:

• Shape and update Livelihoods' Regenerative Agriculture and Biodiversity strategies to align with offtakers, corporate partners (e.g., OP2B platform), and international standards & frameworks (e.g., SAI, SBTi, FLAG).
• Propose solutions to overcome social and economic barriers to deploying innovative & regenerative agricultural systems.
• Co-design technical models with project managers to ensure solutions are suitable, relevant, and adoptable by farmers, and promote investment from corporations.
• Build capacity on agroecological practices to support project managers throughout project cycles.
• Maintain a technical watch on all projects and innovations in agroecology, including monitoring, reporting, verification tools, and disseminate findings within Livelihoods.
• Manage (design, implement, monitor) new or existing field projects (about 20% of your time).
