Description du poste

The Interdisciplinary Institute for Neuroscience of the Bordeaux Neurocampus Department is a world-leading internationally oriented neuroscience research center committed to exploring synaptic and circuit mechanisms of brain function in physiological and in pathological conditions. Christophe Mulle is looking for a Research Assistant – Engineer (f/m/d) with a PhD in Neuroscience to work on a collaborative project funded by the French National Research Agency on the role of PLCG2, emerging as a major genetic risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease.

The project is based on electrophysiological experiments in slices, in combination with cellular imaging and optogenetic stimulations in control mice as well as in mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease. The successful candidate will work independently on his/her project under the supervision of Christophe Mulle. She/he will be supported in her/his project by a staff research assistant, in aspects related to viral vectors and novel gene targeting constructs.

The position is available from October 2025 for an initial period of two years.

Requirements

  • PhD in neuroscience (or in the final stages of submitting the thesis).
  • Prior experience with slice electrophysiology techniques is a strong asset.
  • Collaborative mindset, good communication skills and language proficiency in English
