Role Overview

This job position will help to support Trinseo organization to transfer and build knowledge in Acrylic sheet processing and applications from our Saint Avold site.

Responsibilities
  • Manage new R&D lab in SAV and assure knowledge retention out of our existing lab location.
  • Conduct new ideation process through literature search, white paper, IP trends watch, etc. and support robust pipeline establishment through ideation sessions
  • Serve as technical resource to the rest of the organization
  • Conduct experiments through scientific approach with possibly DOE approach to execute key projects
  • Actively interface with across organization to develop surfaces solutions adhering to market/customers specifications, quality requirements and operational needs
  • Building Blocks surfaces technology by addressing existing challenges pro-actively and optimize plant support needs
  • Work on multi-functional project teams & provide scientific contribution
  • Contribute to development IP
  • Build-up collaboration with internal and external experts (research institutes, universities, etc.)
  • Build-up relevant product and process knowledge to execute key projects
  • Drive gate reviews
  • Ensure all activities are in line with safety and health principles. Proactively support safe working environment and assess any potential hazards.
  • Support and drive capex needs to support R&D work in alignment with ongoing and identified projects
  • Closely work with TS&D team to pursue validation at customers
Qualifications
  • PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, polymer science preferred
  • A minimum of 5-8 years in polymer science, R&D projects Lead
  • French and professional English proficiency mandatory.
