Postdoc: Skyrmion Control via Surface Acoustic Waves

A prestigious research institution in France is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral fellow to engage in a project investigating the magnetostrictive properties of ferromagnets. You will design devices and implement rf setups, along with adapting models for skyrmion motion. Ideal candidates should have a strong background in experimental physics with an emphasis on magnetism and familiarity with LabView or Python. The position is located in the heart of Paris and offers a collaborative research environment.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field such as physics or nanoscience.
• Knowledge in magnetism is required for this position.
• Previous experience in experimental physics is highly desirable.

Responsabilités

• Design acoustic wave exciting devices.
• Implement a new rf set-up combined with Kerr microscopy.
• Adapt models of skyrmion motion to study magnetostriction.
• Study surface acoustic wave driven FMR in various systems.

Connaissances

knowledge of LabView/Python interfacing and/or rf electronics

experience with skyrmions

experience in ferromagnetic resonance

background in magnetism

high appetite for experimental work

good habits of keeping track and sharing experimental results
