Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Operates a variety of heavy equipment including Cat 308 excavators, front-end loaders, skid-steers, trackhoes, backhoes, excavators, dozers, graders, and trenchers.

Typical Duties:

• Actively supports the company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."
• Represents the company with high moral standards, adhering to the "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."
• Performs loading and unloading of equipment and supplies.
• Precisely positions equipment, lifts heavy machinery, components, beams, and lumber.
• Works in a cab using pilot-operated joystick controls, pedals, levers, and buttons to lift, move, and position loads with hoisting attachments such as hooks, slings, electromagnets, and buckets.
• Observes load hookup safety and inspects crane and hoisting mechanisms, reporting any issues.
• Maintains careful attention to follow directions closely, communicating verbally and through signals with team members.
• Operates equipment to dig trenches and holes of specified dimensions and grades.
• Works around underground utilities and in tight spaces.
• Understands shoring, soil classification, and dewatering processes.
• Uses equipment to remove loosened material, placing it in piles or transporting it.
• Identifies safety hazards and takes corrective actions to minimize risks.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervision.

PHYSICAL/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work from elevated or uneven surfaces.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and stooping; occasional climbing onto equipment or trailers.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting (35-100 pounds with assistance).
• Visual ability sufficient for job duties, including eye-hand coordination.
• Travel and overtime may be required.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum three (3) years of mechanical, industrial, or refinery maintenance experience. Knowledge of basic hand tools. Ability to pass equipment tests and visual inspections. Completion of Matrix Service Safety training and/or client-specific training. Must pass background checks and maintain active drug testing status.
