Overview

Design Manager - France, Calais - 6 Months Initial Contract

Our client is seeking a Design Manager to join their team. Our client develops and delivers life-changing medicines to millions of people globally and as part of their growth, with their Drug Substance DS manufacturing network expanding, they are committed to growing their portfolio of commercial biologics products supplied worldwide — and this is your opportunity to be involved.

Responsibilities

• Planning and permitting management (collecting necessary documentation for construction permitting applications)
• Architecture, exterior envelope, and interior design
• Utility infrastructure/connection to external supply
• Civil & Structural and landscaping
• Stormwater, drainage, and sewerage
• Fire & life systems (build, architectural finishes and installation), including fire compartmentalisation of the building, fire curtains, escape routes, etc.
• Security systems (build, architectural finishes and installation), including the location of gatehouse, turnstiles/speed gates, exterior fencing, etc.
• BIM documentation standards and coordination with the local Site Operations team

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering
• Proven experience in a design management role within the pharmaceutical industry
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, including digital and print materials
• Excellent understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and compliance
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Fluency in both French and English (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Project management certification, if possible
• French or Belgian nationality preferred
