Role Overview

We’re looking for a Marketing Lead to spearhead Usual’s marketing efforts. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong grasp of finance, both traditional and decentralized. The ideal candidate will combine an understanding of financial mechanisms, DeFi concepts, and Usual’s unique products with a knack for creating engaging content, managing communities, and driving partnerships. You’ll work closely with teams across sales, BD, and tokenomics to amplify Usual’s presence and create meaningful connections with our community, partners, and the wider DeFi ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Marketing Leadership
  • Curate and implement a global marketing vision tailored to Usual’s mission and audiences.
  • Strategize and execute marketing activities and campaigns that resonate with DeFi participants, institutional partners, and retail users.
• Content Creation & Editorial Policy
  • Manage and contribute to Usual’s editorial pipeline:
    • Website: Publish blog posts and articles covering tokenomics, financial mechanisms, roadmaps, and other key updates.
    • Twitter & Telegram Channels: Drive engagement with partnership announcements, milestones, and weekly recaps.
    • Educational Content: Develop engaging materials with a twist, balancing technical depth with accessibility.
• Community Engagement
  • Oversee community platforms, including Discord and Telegram, ensuring security, moderation, and relationship-building.
  • Train community advocates (e.g., Mava) to foster meaningful interactions and align with Usual’s tone and vision.
• Partnership Marketing Liaison
  • Collaborate with partners on co-marketing initiatives such as joint posts, AMAs, and events.
  • Ensure alignment with partners' messaging and amplify shared milestones.
• Performance Monitoring
  • Track marketing campaign effectiveness, analyze metrics, and provide actionable feedback to internal teams.
• Creative Initiatives
  • Own the intern account for strategies like shitposting, meme creation, and creative community engagement.

Requirements

• Proven copywriting expertise with the ability to adapt tone and style across various platforms.
• Deep understanding of financial mechanisms, DeFi concepts, and Usual’s tokenomics, products, and overarching vision.
• Familiarity with protocols, smart contract mechanics, and the evolving financial ecosystem within DeFi.

• Knowledge of community dynamics within DeFi, with an ear to the ground for trends and market sentiment.
• Creative mindset with a flair for producing engaging and memorable content.
