The ideal candidate has over 10 years of supervisory experience in commercial construction, strong leadership skills, and is well-versed in reading blueprints. Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Commercial Supervision of Ground Up and Fit Outs for a General Contractor.
  • 10+ years reading and interpreting drawings/blueprints.
  • OSHA certifications are required.

Your Responsibilities

Jointly responsible with the Project Manager for the overall success of the project. Responsible for meeting schedule, controlling costs, and managing manpower and equipment on assigned projects. Provides continuous hands-on field supervision of construction operations, including subcontractors and other personnel, directing planning, scheduling, and execution of work on time, within budget, and to high standards of workmanship. Attains or exceeds profit goals, promotes safety, and meets owner expectations. Serves as the on-site leader and is ultimately accountable for the project’s operational success.

Qualifications

Experience and Employee Requirements:

  • 10+ years’ experience in Commercial Supervision of Ground Up and Fit Outs for a General Contractor
  • 10+ years reading and interpreting drawings/blueprints
  • OSHA certifications
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship
  • Ability to work additional hours to meet business goals

Skills:

  • Ability to quickly read and understand blueprints/plans
  • Very organized with a strong eye for detail
  • Working knowledge of laptop use, Microsoft Word, internet, Procore and Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and verify subcontractor work aligns with plans
Responsibilities
  • Perform project supervision under the direction of a Project Manager
  • Attend turnover and project review meetings, pre-construction, progress, and safety meetings
  • Lead the on-site team from construction start through project close
  • Monitor on-site safety, cleanliness, and orderliness
  • Identify and address design deficiencies, scheduling concerns, and project-specific issues
Maintaining the Schedule
  • Provide weekly 2–3 week look-ahead schedules and coordinate with subs to verify manpower and material readiness
  • Review progress and adjust schedules; request additional manpower as needed
  • Maintain current plans, specs, and submittal data
  • Inspect work in progress for quality and schedule compliance
  • Maintain red line drawings and address constructability issues
Ideal Candidate
  • 5–10 years of Commercial Construction Superintendent experience in Retail and related sectors
  • Excellent organizational, planning, leadership, and communication skills
  • Experience with Windows-based applications and scheduling tools
  • Valid driver’s license
