Commissioning Engineers play a vital role in performing Electrical and PLC software commissioning activities within the allocated cost and time scale constraints of the material-handling project. They also ensure the commissioning activities follow the correct methods and standards to meet the requirements of the customers project.

• Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting exceeding our safety quality On-Time-Delivery and budget requirements.
• To commission controls systems on-site including electrical and PLC software commissioning and to provide support to system test activities and training for the end user
• To produce commissioning documentation including but not limited to commissioning checklists test specifications Method Statements and Risk Assessments for Automated solutions to BS EN ISO 12100.
• To interpret electrical schematics and design input information.
• Ensure systems supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive.
• Commission Safety Related Part of the Controls system solutions to the regulations and in accordance with BS EN ISO 13849 / 13850 / 60204 etc.

• To maintain the Dematic image as a top-quality professional company by adopting an honest professional and attentive approach.
• To maintain good relationships with all internal and external customers through the provision of a high-quality service.
• To liaise with other Company Departments Customers and sub-contractors.
• To maintain and use wherever possible Dematic standards.
• To comply with the company policies.
• To promote personal and business continuous improvement and development of processes to achieve improved time cost and quality or project delivery.

• HNC or HND in Electrical / Controls Engineering.
• Experience with electrical commissioning activities.
• Experience with PLC commissioning activities would be an advantage but not essential to this position as we would look to invest in your development here.
• An understanding of automated warehouses is desirable not essential.
• Hands-on experience with Electrical commissioning.
• Exposure to PLC HMI or SCADA development activities would be an advantage but not essential.
• Ability to understand Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
• Good understanding of bus systems
• Understanding of distributed control systems is desirable not essential.
• Role will require extensive travel to customer sites up to 80% within the EMEA European region including travel to other Dematic offices or facilities across Europe in the undertaking of duties.
• Full drivers license to support the travel requirements of the role.
